more pics

more pictures. after a fun filled week of getting ready and then bringing everything home and relaxing it was time to send Renee back home to Florida. We spent a lazy day on the Riverwalk eating and sightseeing. Caught up before going to airport on Monday and now ordering pictures and getting the house back in order. WHEW, who knew it took so much to get a son married. I feel badly for those of you who have girls. You have much more to do than I did.

Reheasal Dinner

So we had the rehearsal. We are all set for tomorrow. Nothing will go as smoothly as we all hope, but all in all the kids will be married and happy. Isn't that what we all want anyway??
Luke was really surprised to see his Auntie Nae. Of course it had been a few years.
The cake turned out beautiful. A big shout out to Lucille for stepping in and doing it after the original "cake lady" had to beg off. Pictures after the wedding. You didn't think I would post it before, now did you?????? You have to wait like everyone else.
So off to bed and up early to start getting ready. Hi, Ho, it's off to bed we go!

Brain Blip

Today is Luke's birthday. What a absent minded mother I am. Yes I remembered it was today. I just forgot to put it in the post.
Happy Birthday to Luke!!!! We love you.

weather, again.

Just checked forecast and it is showing to be 75 degrees! YAY!!! Nice weather. Still no mention of rain. It does still show clouds. So maybe cloudy and warmish? We'll take it.
The kids got their marriage license yesterday. Sarah got her hair done. Luke doesn't need a hair cut, his hair is always short. Can't count the number of times over the years he's said "Mom, I need a haircut". That's my boy.

Still checking the weather daily. According to one report now quite as warm as it has been and some clouds. Not a forecast for rain just some clouds.
Tomorrow Luke and Sarah are going to get the marriage license. Three day waiting period and good for 30 days. We should be good to go.
Count down continues.

Directions

Ok, don't know if the kids are putting out balloons are what they are going to do about marking the location. Mike and I drove out there tonight. We missed the road. Course it was dark but still, we had a really good idea where we were going and you all won't. So when you get on FM 466 go the 1.6 miles and just BEFORE you cross the Guadalupe River SLOW DOWN because you are going to turn to the right. In the daylight you will be able to see the GBRA sign that says Nolte Island. But if you cross the river you went too far, turn around and go back.

More tomorrow.

Weather

Uh-Oh. checking weather forecasts this morning. Now it shows a chance of a thunderstorm. NOOO! I suppose the forecast will change several times between now and then, but I really really don't like seeing that.
We're going tonight to see the venue. Planning on putting sides up on it so that this crazy weather doesn't mess us up. We'll see what the guys come up with.

weather forecast

According to the weather forecasts that I have read in the past several days, the weather should be nice. There is no forecast of rain at this point and the temps should be close to what we have been experiencing. One forecast reported unseasonably warm, one said seasonal temps and one said cooler. Dress in layers and pray for unseasonably warm.

Count down to wedding

Until recently we have used this blog for our dogs. Not anymore, I am going to use this as wedding central.
I will post updates on weather reports for the big day and other information that may be helpful. Directions?
Here is a link that may have a better map for getting there. http://www.recreationparks.net/TX/guadalupe/nolte-island-recreation-area-seguin

More as things progress.

Only one lone male left. He is doing well and is going to get his 8 wk shot. He is a bit lonely but with the other dogs here he isn't completely alone. He is growing fast and weighs about 20 pounds now.

Sunday, March 15, 2009

Could you really resist this face? Isn't he precious? He is read to go to to his new home. He is going to be a big boy as he is weighing in at 15 pounds now.

This is one of males that we had left. The other looks very similar. All the pups have had their 6 weeks shots and are looking for a new home.

Sunday, March 1, 2009

The pups are getting bigger. They are all eating well and beginning to play with one another. They go for their first shots next Saturday.

Tuesday, February 17, 2009

These are the 3 boys. They are all quite lively and are "barking" at each other. They are three weeks old tomorrow.
Johnny Ringo on full alert. Something must have caught his attention.

The "eyes" have it!

The pups are beginning to open their eyes. They all seem to have blue eyes right now. They are moving around and making barking noises.

Growing pups

The pups are growing.

Not just a working dog.

We have had Anatolians for about 10 years. They are extremely loyal and excellent guardians. Anatolians protect their flock whether their flock is goats, sheep or children or adults. They are a bit rough around small children as they do not take into consideration their size or weight.
Anatolians are docile unless they are challenged. They do not tend to be aggressive unless circumstances warrant. They will stay between their flock and a perceived danger. When they feel all is well they will move off. They need to be introduced to other people and animals. These dogs can be quite intimidating merely because of their size. Males will grow until they are 2 years old and can go over 120 pounds. Females are a bit smaller but our Matilda is 90 pounds now after the babies.
Anatolians need a strong leader. They seek to please and are quite lovable. They are not for apartment or small fenced in backyard living. They can jump quite high at an early age. They need space to run and territory to check. They require good fencing. They bark their warning to potential intruders and will chase after them to keep them away from the flock. The last thing you want is your dog going over a fence after a deer or coyote. Anatolians will bark until they feel the threat has passed.
These dogs are suited for working first and foremost. They are not suited for merely laying around as a pet.

One Week and Growing

Here are the little ones at one week old. Mama is looking good and eating well. The pups are gaining weight. Their eyes should be opening in a few days. Johnny Ringo is standing guard over his family.

Puppies for sale

Our puppies will be sold for $450.00 each. First deposit gets first pick. I can email additional pictures of the puppies to choose from. It is my opinion that you should really see the pups before making a decision. The pups will lighten up a bit as they age. If you would rather have an older dog rather than a small pup we are also selling the mother. She has been spayed and is a wonderful dog. She is a great guardian dog and very eager to please.
The pups will have all the required shots before they are picked up. We feel that the dogs need to stay with the mother until they are at least 8 weeks old. This is a tremendous benefit for the puppies. It gives them additional time to socialize.
Please contact me at 512-789-0578 if you have any questions at all. You may also email us at twoprices@gmail.com
